When you’re traveling with a baby, things get a lot more complicated. But they don’t have to be stressful! Okay maybe babies are just stressful, but you can make it a lot easier on yourself. There are a lot of accessories that will make your trip much more manageable. These are my recommendations for the must-have travel accessories for babies!
Baby Seats: Stroller and Car Seat
Step one is making sure your baby has safe travel plans. A stroller is going to be crucial if you plan on doing any walking around. You’ll especially want a nice collapsible one that won’t be too bulky or hard to carry. A travel bag can help a ton with this and also keep your stroller safe from the risks of air travel.
You’ll want to bring your own car seat too if you’re planning on driving. Keeping it lightweight is nice, but safety is, of course, the number one concern. This is yet another situation that a carrying bag can help. Specially designed car seat bags are padded and possibly even waterproof!
Travel Accessories For Babies: What’s Between Your Little One And The Ground?
The next item you want is a collapsible baby crib (which doubles as a baby pen!) This simple item will make sure your little one always has a safe clean bed to sleep on. Not to mention it’ll keep them contained if you have to stay somewhere a little less than nice!
For similar reasons you’ll want your own collapsible changing pad. There’s no telling where you’re going to have a situation. And there’s no telling what kind of resources they’re going to have. A nice clean changing pad will make sure that you’ve got a safe place to change your baby, wherever you might be!
Instead of a stroller (or more likely in addition to one) you should have a baby carrier. This hands free option will give you the ultimate flexibility to take your baby wherever you want to go. (And you’ll always be able to keep them close and safe!)
Travel Accessories For Babies: All The Small Things
You’re going to need somewhere to keep all your supplies. A good diaper bag is just the place to do it. You’re going to want a roomy, sturdy bag that can handle everything you’ll be throwing at it.
Some of them even have wipe-clean materials that will let you easily clean any mess. And with the little ones, you know there’s gonna be a mess!
Speaking of mess, having silicone bibs with you will always come in handy. Especially ones that have food catchers on the bottom! Keeping your baby’s clothes completely clean is an impossible task, but this bib will get you a lot closer. Plus, silicone bibs can easily be cleaned in sinks or anywhere else with running water. After that you can simply roll it up, toss it in the diaper bag, and keep on rolling!
Baby Sleep Sack
The final baby accessory I want to note is the sleep sack. Baby blankets can take up a lot of space, and they can do it fast. Minimizing this space while still keeping your baby warm and snug can be a tricky task. That’s where the sleep sack comes in. This cross between a blanket and a tiny sleeping bag will help keep your little one bundled up anywhere. Whether it’s a cold plane, or even just a cold hotel!
There are probably a million other accessories to help you keep your baby happy while you’re on the road. But these should give you the headstart you need to make it through any travel (relatively) unscathed.
